Quinta das Canas is a cottage owned by our friendly English neighbour, Tim, who is happy to rent out his home when he is not in Portugal.
Quinta das Canas is situated close (400 metres) to our restaurant at Vinha Da Manta. As one of our guests, this means that the use of all the facilities of Vinha Da Manta are within easy reach. You can swim in our biological swimming pool and / or have a nice snack and a drink at our pool bar.
You can also come up and enjoy a wonderful dinner from your host Menno, and you can, of course, join us for a ride on horseback. Every morning there is breakfast at the restaurant which is included in the price.
Quinta das Canas is not always available, because Tim obviously wants to enjoy it for himself and his family from time to time. But renting is possible throughout the year according to availability which you can check on our website www.damantalodges.com or mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Quinta das Canas is situated just 400 meters downhill from our Quinta and its terrace and nine acres of land offer a glorious view of the Mondego Valley stretching down to the river and rising to mountains on the other side.
The house, which was originally a traditional lagar and used as a wine press, is easily accessed from a paved country road with ample parking space. Built from original large granite stones, it has since been renovated in a minimalist style with Pedra Vista walls, cosy furniture, and Portuguese tiles, with modern appliances and comforts. The renovation was done in 2015/2016, so it is now a very modern house suitable for 4-6 persons. It has one double bedroom, another bedroom with two single beds, and a third bedroom (1 bed) with its own bathroom. In addition, there is a sofa-bed in the sitting room.
The modern bathroom is situated between the two bedrooms and has a wash basin, a shower, and a toilet. The open plan living room and kitchen/dining room are divided by steps leading to a mezzanine floor with high ceilings, giving it a spacious feel. There are two outside terraces with a pergola offering shade, and a spectacular view over the olive groves. One has seats, table, and a second (outdoor) kitchen, and the other – which is even bigger – has a double bed for lounging and stargazing at night.
